Moreau-Inzerillo, from the qualy to the Round of 16 in Monaco
The first four duels in the last sixteen of the WBC Monaco Master saw Gonzalez-Luque, Moreau-Inzerillo, Torre-Ramos and Britos-Sanchez Blasco qualify against Casino de Monte-Carlo.
The draw started with authority as the scoreboard showed in favour of Jose Luis Gonzalez and Antonio Luque. They only dropped two games against the Monegasques Damar-Klein (WC) who they defeated by 6/0 6/2.
In the last sixteen, the Spaniards will face the No. 4 seeds, Agustin 'El Loco' Torre and Diego Ramos, who got rid of a dangerous pairing from the South American qualifiers, Feli Calleja and Dylan Cuello. After a great first set, Diego and Agus had to suffer in the second where their rivals took a step forward but it wasn't enough (6/1 6/4) to stop Torre-Ramos.
In the closest match of the day, Frenchmen Maxime Moreau and Jerome Inzerillo beat Argentineans Fran Maier and Mati Gonzalez in three sets. After a great French start, the very young Maier (17 years old) adjusted the sight and forced the third. There, the physicality and confidence of Moreau and Inzerillo prevailed until the 6/4 4/6 6/2 that gives them the pass to the round of 16 where they await the winner of the second round of the afternoon.
To close, No. 6 seeds Andres Britos and Maxi Sanchez Blasco didn't spare Fabri Peiron and Alejandro Perez Porta who always put up a tough fight. In a double 6/3, Maxi and Andres secured a victory that allows them to wait for the winner of the first match of the afternoon.
