Pereyra-De Pascual suffer in the return of Yob-Martinez

The France Grand Master champions, Ramiro Pereyra and Juani De Pascual, had a very tough debut against a combative Dani Martinez and Leito Yob. The Spanish-Argentine duo made their debut in 2025 after the Spaniard recovered from an injury that had deprived him of playing this year. Despite the difficulties, Pereyra-De Pascual showed their champion's badge to seal their pass to the round of 16. Puppo-Maldonado, Lopez-Gonzalez and Abud-Solano also made it through.
Maldonado-Puppo react to take the victory

The Argentinean duo managed to wake up in time and reach the last 16 after winning 4/6 6/1 6/1 6/1 against Sanchez-Zamora.

It was a match that started very evenly in the first set. In fact, the Spanish pairing's break in the ninth game would be key for their interests in a first set that they closed out with a 6/4 service game.

It was practically up to this point that the good sensations and positive dynamic of the Spaniards arrived. Maldonado-Puppo were vindicated in the second set with breaks from very early on and they put equality on the scoreboard with a 6/1.

In the last set, the Argentine pairing came out on top as the games went by and Zamora-Sanchez couldn't connect at any point with the approach that had brought them good results in the first set. Maldonado-Puppo repeated the score of the second set and guaranteed their presence in the last sixteen. They will face the winner of the clash between Mendez-Dehnike and Abud-Solano.

Lopez-Gonzalez eliminate Perry-Andrada in their first match

Rodri Lopez and Miguel Gonzalez eliminated Pedro Perry-Juampi Andrada in the last sixteen by a score of 6/2 and 7/5.

The Spaniards, who were expected as a pairing in Lanzarote, marked their game from the start of the first set. The 23rd pairing cancelled out the blank game with which their opponents started the match thanks to Miguel Gonzalez who fixed the middle and Rodri Lopez who surprised at the net. A 4-0 lead in their favour opened up a gap on the scoreboard which saw Perry-Andrada overcome and they started to make errors.

Errors that occurred at the start of the first set (6/2 up for Lopez-Gonzalez) and did not stop at the start of the second (4-0 in favour of the Spaniards). Far from leaving the match, Perry emerged to take out his opponents' errors and lift his partner. The Portuguese, very solid with his backhand block, led to a 5-0 break to turn the score around (5-4 at the break). Perry's great moment was joined by the differences, latent in the bench passages of Lopez and Gonzalez on the game strategy.

However, Andrada had been the player who did not end up getting into the match and four errors in the eleventh game led to the final break. After closing the second set by 7/5, Gonzalez-Lopez will face Santi Frugoni and Matias Del Moral in the round of 16.

Forgiving is expensive against the No. 4 team

Martín Abud and José Solano defeated their compatriots Facu Dehnike and Rafa Méndez in a Spanish-Paraguayan duel that was decided by double 6/3 with a decisive influence of the break opportunities.

Dehnike and Mendez entered the court with a better feeling and had several break points against a somewhat erratic Abud and Solano. The Aguilares champions adjusted their inaccuracies and saved the break balls to turn the first set around. The second set was almost a carbon copy of the previous one with a total of 1/11 break point opportunities for Dehnike-Mendez compared to 4/5 for Abud-Solano, who were very effective in the final stretch of the match. Maldonado-Puppo, their next opponents.

The French champions sweat in their debut

Ramiro Pereyra and Juan Ignacio De Pascual closed the first day of the sixteenth round of the Lanzarote Open after beating Dani Martinez and Leo Yob (7/6 and 7/5).

The number 2 pairing suffered the complicated conditions of La Marina Lanzarote and had a hard time against Martinez-Yob who returned to compete after the recovery of the Bilbao player. However, the number 2 pairing was stronger in the decisive moments, saving up to ten break balls against them throughout the match.

In the first match, the Argentines lifted four break balls against them, winning three golden points. As the match went on, they were better with their serves and the definition of the set came in the tie break. A tie break that came after the pair two won with their serve three times with the golden point, two in white and a game with 40-15. On the other side of the net Martinez-Yob did not grant any break options to their rivals, but found themselves with four unforced errors at the start of the tie break.

After taking the first set in the tiebreaker (7/6), Pereyra-De Pascual had to bring out their best version again to save in their first two serves up to five break balls against them. The desperation of Yob-Martinez resulted in several errors that led to the first break option for their rivals in the eighth game. After taking it, Juani and Rama served to win (5-3) but wasted up to three match balls making their rivals break for the first time in the eleventh break ball.

Finally a break of the seemingly two in the twelfth game decided the match (7/5). After their first round victory, Pereyra-De Pascual will face Lopez-Gutierrez in the round of 16.

The second day of the second round will be held at the Marina Lanzarote center court and the auxiliary court of Sportclub Puerto Calero. Both courts will start at 10:00 a.m. (local time), with six matches in the center court and two in the auxiliary court.
